Independant film makers Curt Ellis and Ian Cheney have created a new documentary entitled "King Corn", a film that begins, interestingly enough, with hair.
Why hair? Because, utilizing advanced technology to analyize strands of hair we find out that the highest element present in our bodies is... corn. Corn is present in some form or another, in almost everything on the American plate. Everything.
And the form that it takes at the highest level is the food ingredient "high fructose corn syrup" (HFCS).
This film, while following the corn trail from seed to harvest, also delves into the shameful political shennanigans that the government engaged in the 1970s as it flooded the american market, and the american dinner table, with a flood of high frutose corn syrup.
The film also features some interview clips with Michale Pollen and makes for a compelling watch.
